President Obama announced plans on Tuesday (May 19, 2009) for a national fuel-economyand greenhouse-gas standard that would significantly increase mileage requirements for cars and trucks by 2016. The new requirements mark the first time there has been a nationwide standard for emissions of greenhouse gases. They require an average mileage standard of 39 miles per gallon for cars and 30 mpg for trucks by 2016 – a jump from the current average for all vehicles of 25 miles per gallon.
The new standards cover the model years 2012 to 2016 and are expected to add about $600 to the cost of a new car. The White House predicted significant environmental benefits from the program, with a projected savings over the life of the program of 1.8 billion barrels of oil, and reductions of 900 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
While Americans are thinking how to save gas and reduce pollution, we should also see how people do in Europe and Asia. Most people in Europe and Asia use motorcycles or scooters as their main transportation. Unlike Americans, most Europeans or Asians ride to work or to anywhere within 30 miles. The new vehicle standards require 39 MPG for cars and 30 MPG for trucks. Well, the average MPG for motorcycles or scooters is more than 50 MPG. Some scooters even have +100 MPG. For example, the MPG for QLINK XF200 is around 85 miles per gallon. Moreover, motorcycle or scooter requires very minimum maintenance compared with cars. So the cost to ride a motorcycle or scooter is definitely much less than the cost to drive a car.
It is Americans’ time to adopt motorcycle or scooter as transportation besides car. Looking for a motorcycle or scooter? Check out QLINK MOTOR website at www.qlinkmotor.com and let’s go green.

With the economy where it is today is it very important to purchase construction equipment and trucks that you can count on and won’t let you down. The slightest equipment set back right now could be the difference between in business or bankrupt.
